Why should we read Quran with understanding?
The Glorious Quran, is a collection of messages reveled to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by Allah (SWT). Allah says in the Holy Quran that the Quran was sent as a guide to whole of mankind (2:185). The Quran is a guidance sent from Allah (SWT), a code of conduct on how to lead life in this world so that your life in the hereafter is secured. But do we, the Indian Muslim’s, understand the Divine message? Have we ever cared to understand what Allah (SWT) has decreed for us.
If you get a notice from the police department which is in a language that you do not understand. What will you do? Will you keep it aside because you don’t understand the language or will you get it explained by someone who understands that language? What have we done with the divine message? If it is not in our language, isn’t it our duty to understand the language it is revealed in? If we do not understand the guidance how can we expect our selves to be among the guided people?
Reading translations is not enough. The essence of the thought cannot be translated from one language to another. The Holy Quran is the greatest Arabic literature on the surface of the earth which is in a poetic form. To understand the message and to experience the beauty of the Divine poem it is mandatory that we learn Arabic and understand Allah’s (SWT) message first hand.
For us Indians, It is easier to learn Arabic as compared to learning any other language because many Arabic words have been adopted and are used in Urdu language. Arabic Tree has conducted free Arabic grammar classes followed by tafseer of the Glorious Quran so that the true essence of the divine message is delivered in its original form. We pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) to increase us in knowledge – RABBI ZIDNI ILMA, AMEEN YA RABBAL AALAMEEN.
