وَقَالُوا لَن تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلَّا أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَةً
And they say, “Never will the Fire touch us, except for a few days.”

قَالَ كَلَّا إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ
[Moses] said, “No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.”(26.62)

#4. Haza ? this - (S/M)
..قَالَ يَا مَرْيَمُ أَنَّى لَكِ هَذَا
He said, “O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?”…(3.37)
#5. Hazihi ? this - (S/F)
إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا
Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.(73.19)
#6. Tilka ? that - (S/F)
وَمَا تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَا مُوسَى
And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?” (20.17)
#7. Al’lazi ? he who - (S/M) whom
…اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ
Allah, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.(14.2)
#8. bala ? yes, indeed
بَلَى مَن كَسَبَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَحَاطَتْ بِهِ خَطِيئَتُهُ فَأُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him – those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.(2.81)
#9. ha’olayi ? these - (PLR / M-F)
وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَؤُلَاءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
And We decreed for him that Command, that the last trace of these was to be cut off in the (early) morning.(15.66)
#10. Zalika ? that - (S/M)
ثُمَّ عَفَوْنَا عَنكُم مِّن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
Then We forgave you after that so perhaps you would be grateful (2.52)
#11. duna ? besides; less than
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ
Truly it is only associating others with Allah in His divinity that Allah does not forgive, but forgives anything besides that to whomsoever He wills.(4.116)
#12. Al’lati ? she who - (S/F) which
وَاسْأَلِ الْقَرْيَةَ الَّتِي كُنَّا فِيهَا وَالْعِيرَ الَّتِي أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ
“And ask the city in which we were and the caravan in which we came – and indeed, we are truthful,”
(12.82)
#13. Ou’laika ? those - (PLR / M-F)
أُولَئِكَ عَلَى هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.2.5
#14. il’la ? except; unless; if not
قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ
They said, “Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise.”(2.32)
#15. laysa ? not ( to negate noun)
ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants.”(
3.182)
#16. ma ? not
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِين
And of the people are some who say, “We believe in Allah and the Last Day,” but they are not believers.(2.8)
#17. Al’lazina ? those who - (PLR / M-F)
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ
Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.(103.3)
#18. ghay’ra ? not, other than
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.(1.17)
#19. Tilka ? that - (S/F)
وَمَا تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَا مُوسَى
And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?”(20.17)
#20. na’am ? yes
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
He said, “Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me].”(7.114)
#21. lam ? not
وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْلَمُونَ
…and teaching you that which you did not know.(2.151)
